Bethel Place News Update – April 1, 2019

In response to COVID-19 and these unprecedented times, Bethel Place continues to implement necessary measures under the direction of health and government authorities in keeping our communities safe and healthy.  As we navigate COVID-19, Bethel Place has implemented the following measures while encouraging our residents to safely live independently and resourcefully.

South Oak Inn & Food Delivery

Effective March 18th, 2020 the South Oak Inn dining room delivery has changed to a take-out food delivery service. This is an essential service to the residents of Bethel Place and is in accordance with public health order on March 30th.  Meals can be ordered by calling the front office at 204-284-3762 Monday thru Friday, by 11:00 am.  Payment is made through a residents’ pre-paid account. All deliveries are made between 11:30 – 1:00 pm with no-contact.  Milk & Food sales are also available by delivery with Friday lunches.  Bethel Place is pleased to be able to continue to provide this vital service to the residents.  A weekly menu is available here.

Practical Help to Residents

To help resident navigate these changing times the BP office is sending residents’ weekly correspondence. These bulletins inform residents on a variety of health reminders, provincial updates, Bethel Place news, and encouragement.  Staff is also reaching out to all residents by phone to check in and assist with needs. Residents requiring assistance are encouraged to phone the front desk and a staff will return their call.    A monthly calendar c/w list of resources is available at https://bethelplace.ca/programming/calendar-of-events/.

Safety at Bethel Place

All staff, community & residents volunteers are required to practice social distancing, self-isolation when required, monitoring health, and following all health and safety standards as they work.  Only essential maintenance work is taking place (ie cleaning, emergency repairs, security services and essential moves only). Where possible, staff are working from home or adapting their work areas to increase social distance.  Bethel Place strives to maintain a safe living and working environment for residents, volunteers, staff, and essential visitors. We remind all persons at Bethel Place:

  • Essential visitation only (medication, health support, and groceries needs)
  • Keep a social distance of 2 meters between you and other people
  • Frequent hand hygiene
  • Avoid touching eyes/nose/mouth
  • Stay at home if experiencing flu-like symptoms
