Are you a talented, community-minded culinary leader? Mennonite Seniors Housing Network is seeking a Kitchen Manager/Chef to manage the South Oak Inn kitchen team and work alongside a dedicated group of community volunteers to provide exceptional dining experiences for Bethel Place residents. We are looking for a leader who balances fresh culinary creativity with a deep appreciation for traditional comfort food and community spirit.
Key Responsibilities
- Kitchen Leadership: Oversee daily kitchen operations, staff scheduling, training, and inventory/cost controls.
- Menu Innovation: Bring fresh ideas to life while honoring traditional, favorite recipes.
- Volunteer Engagement: Support and welcome the dedicated community volunteers serving our dining room.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to provincial food safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of kitchen experience, with proven leadership as a Kitchen Manager or similar role.
- Certifications: Valid Food Handler Certification (Required).
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, inventory management, and food/labor cost controls.
- Cultural Asset: Knowledge of traditional Mennonite cooking is considered a strong asset.
